Join the team at RSPB St Aidan’s Nature Park for an evening discovering all things astronomical!
Led by the Wakefield and District Astronomical Society, this interactive session will allow you to learn about the basics of astronomy with a gentle overview of subjects such as:
What is astronomy?
Our solar system.
Major star constellations and how they form patterns in the sky.
Interesting objects like galaxies, star clusters and nebula.
How to observe the night sky.
Practical tips on using binoculars and telescopes.
There will be a range of telescopes and other optical equipment to compare the views through each. Feel free to bring along your equipment and receive advice on how to set it up & get the best out of it.
