Dark sky sites in the UK

There are many officially recognised and publicly accessible dark sky sites in the UK. Considering widespread light pollution, this may come as a surprise! Most of these sites are Dark Sky Discovery Sites, places officially recognised as excellent locations for stargazing. Various local authorities have suggested others, and we've added some of our favourite spots too.  We hope this map helps you find your closest dark sky site, and we wish you clear skies when you get there!
