The Wheaty session takes place in the Wheatsheaf pub on the third Sunday in the month except for July and August when we take a summer break. Organised by Alan Mead, this is the big sister session to the Green Man steady speed session. A friendly session where musicians of all levels can get together to play acoustic traditional music, mostly from the British Isles.
The session runs through the generous support of the management who keep the pub open especially for us – please show your appreciation and support for this fantastic community pub by buying a drink or two from the bar.
The sessions are planned to be informal – you don’t have to start up a tune if you don’t want to – but if you do then the idea is that everyone else will follow you and play it your way. If you want to play it real slow and steady then that’s fine and we’ll all do the same – everyone was a beginner once.
The sessions start at 7:30pm on the and are in full swing by 8pm.
