Embark on a remarkable journey on Bolette, a voyage spanning nine nights that encapsulates the very essence of Iceland’s wonders. A treasure trove of volcanic landscapes, geothermal marvels, and rich culture awaits, offering you a whirlwind exploration of this mesmerising country.
Iceland’s allure unfolds as Bolette guides you through a symphony of nature’s masterpieces. Gaze upon the dramatic vistas shaped by ancient volcanic forces and the ethereal geothermal areas that paint the earth’s canvas in hues of mystique.
A highlight awaits in Akureyri, where a whale-watching tour unveils the majesty of these ocean giants. Witness their graceful dance through the waves, a spectacle that leaves an indelible mark on your heart.
In just nine nights, Iceland’s soul is revealed. It’s a journey that encompasses landscapes, legends, and the raw power of nature, inviting you to become a part of its story.
In addition, you’ll be joined aboard by an experienced astronomer from Go Stargazing for guided night sky tours under light pollution-free skies as part of Fred. Olsen’s Sky at Sea signature experience.
- Explore the night skies on deck with an astronomer from Go Stargazing.
- Learn how our ancestors interpreted the sky with a laser-guided tour of the constellations.
- With the Sun approaching solar maximum and peak activity, viewing the Northern Lights is statistically more likely and displays more intense. It’s the best time to see Aurora in years!
- The ringed planet Saturn will be visible for most of the night. We may glimpse the famous rings and some of its Moons through binoculars.
- On the 16th and 17th of September, the gibbous Moon will appear near Saturn, resulting in an excellent conjunction.
- Mars and Jupiter will shine bright and can be observed rising from the East in the early morning hours. See the Moons of Jupiter using binoculars and watch how they change position in relation to the giant planet during the cruise.
- Shooting stars or meteors are always a possibility if the sky is clear!
