Situated atop the Airdrie Library buildings the dome that houses the Airdrie Observatory is home to an impressive 6″ Victorian refracting telescope. The observatory is run by Airdrie Astronomical Society who open the observatory to the public throughout the winter months (November through January), for astronomical events throughout the year and for groups wishing to visit by prior arrangement.
