North Pennines Star Camp - Autumn 2024
Friday 25th October 2024 from 18:00pm to Sunday 27th October 2024 12:00pm
Doe Park Caravan Site
Cotherstone, Barnard Castle, County Durham, DL12 9UQ, North East
Join astronomers Richard Darn and Neill Sanders from Go Stargazing for an astronomical weekend in Teesdale.
The camp is perfect for novice astronomers and is great for adults and children (6+ years). Telescopes and expert guidance will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment, including cameras (with tripods) and binoculars.
There will also be astronomy-themed talks, solar observation, and a bottle rocket competition.
Saturn, a super bright Jupiter, and a big moon will look amazing during the weekend. The views are sure to blow your socks off!
You will arrive on Friday night for a mulled wine reception at 7 p.m. Stargazing will be available (weather permitting) on Friday and Saturday nights, with departure on Sunday.
Bring warm clothing and a red-light torch (if you have one).
This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 2024, which will run from October 25th to November 3rd, 2024. #NorthPennStarFest24 #NPennDarkSkies
