Saturn returns and the Moon rises! Stargazing at Sutton Bank

A spectacular night is on the cards as a starry sky is joined by the majectic ringed world of Saturn, with the Moon also on the rise. We’ll break out our big telescopes to reveal these wonders and also venture into deep space to pick out the constellations of September and some of their eye-catching treasures.

The Hub provides a warm indoor space for colourful presentations with a purpose built viewing area alongside. If it’s cloudy we will still see stars thanks to a brilliant computer based planetarium show.

The North York Moors National Park is an international dark sky reserve with low levels of light pollution. We advise you to wear sensible outdoor footwear and wrap up warm. Bring binoculars if you have them, although we will supply the telescopes and have plenty of astro binoculars for you to try!
