High Legh Community Observatory

The amateur astronomy group that runs events at the nearby High Legh Community Observatory meets on each month's second Thursday. These meetings are open to the public (a small fee is charged on the door) and involve an interesting presentation or lecture by an expert in astronomy. These events do not necessarily involve practical stargazing; however, they are a great way to meet local astronomers and find out more about their fantastic observatory.

Everyone is welcome to join the High Legh Astronomical Society members in their charming and welcoming observatory for this one of their regular Friday evenings open nights. Please note that the observatory will be open only if the weather is good for two to three hours after dusk. The start time of these events changes throughout the year, with the earliest time being 8 pm. If you are interested in attending, we recommend you contact the Society in advance to confirm opening times and let them know you'll be going along. These events are free of charge (donations welcome!) and make for an excellent opportunity for an evening of stargazing with a friendly and enthusiastic bunch of amateur astronomers!
