Orpington Astronomical Society

The Orpington Astronomical Society meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month (the third Wednesday in December).

The highlight of the meeting is a talk by an invited speaker or member of the Society followed by a brief overview of astronomical events for the upcoming month.

The group welcomes everyone, from beginners and those curious about the Universe to experienced amateur astronomers.

Join the Orpington Astronomical Society astronomers for this informal observing session at Otford Village Memorial Hall. On the third Thursday of most months, members meet to chat over a cup of tea before setting up their telescopes.

The public (prospective new Members) is welcome to join them, and the meeting goes ahead no matter the weather. The location is excellent for stargazing, with the adjacent recreation ground protected from street lighting.
