The Friends of the Lake District function as an autonomous charitable organisation with a mission to safeguard and improve the scenic areas of Cumbria.
The group's conviction is rooted in the idea that the Lake District presents some of England's most stunning and invaluable panoramas.
Their efforts are focused on preserving and augmenting the innate attractiveness of these landscapes, aiming to positively impact the nearby communities by reducing light pollution and protecting local wildlife and ecosystems.
