SUMMARY:The Astronomy Centre Public Open Evenings
DESCRIPTION:The Astronomy Centre near Todmorden is open to the public every
  Saturday until late throughout the year. \n\nJoin their friendly team of 
 astronomers for a tour of the facility and explore the skies with various 
 telescopes\, including a huge 30" aperture Dobsonian telescope and 8" refr
 actor. \n\nObserving using telescopes is weather permitting\, with talks a
 nd presentations taking place if the weather is cloudy or the skies are li
 ght. \n\nWe recommend booking one of their formal sessions\, which starts 
 at 18.00 for juniors\, 19.30 and 20.45 for adults. \n\nDrop-in visitors ar
 e welcome to use the central area informally for casual observing\, which 
 may be supervised (staff permitting). \n\nSafe solar observation and the C
 amera Obscura are available when the weather allows\, pre-booking is advis
 ed.\n\nVolunteers run the venue entirely\; a minimum cash donation of £2.
 00 is asked for to help cover costs.
