SUMMARY:Sherwood Observatory Public Open Day - September 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join Mansfield and Sutton Astronomical Society members as they 
 open their observatory for an afternoon of solar observing.\n\nHere\, you 
 can view the Sun via our dedicated solar telescope (weather permitting). D
 epending on the activity of the Sun\, expect to see real-time views of the
  Chromosphere\, where significant eruptions of solar material eject into s
 pace. \n\nAlso\, there will be presentations\, talks and plenty of activit
 ies for younger astronomers. The Radio Astronomy Centre will be open for v
 isitors to learn about meteor detection and take in some live solar radio 
 astronomy.\n\nPrior booking is required\, with tickets becoming available 
 approximately 3 to 4 weeks prior to each event.
