Informal stargazing at Wynyard Planetarium and Observatory
Tuesday every week from September 2024 to April 2025
Wynyard Planetarium & Observatory
Thorpe Thewles, Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, TS21 3JG
Join friendly and enthusiastic amateur astronomers at Wynyard Observatory for an informal evening of stargazing. Observe the Moon, planets and deep-sky objects using their large aperture telescopes. Take your telescope if you have one for expert advice!
These sessions occur every Tuesday night throughout the stargazing season from September to April, as long as volunteers are available. The free events occur, whatever the weather, with the planetarium offering somewhere warm to congregate and chat with the team.
These sessions are ideal for everyone interested, including families with younger astronomers, and no need to book in advance.
