Stargazing in Elan Valley Dark Sky Park

Several years of effort was rewarded in 2015 when Elan Valley earned Dark Sky Park status.

This achievement means that the region’s stunning dark skies are protected for future generations. They are well worth protecting — this area has arguably amongst the darkest skies in the country.

Fantastic scenery combines with star-filled skies to create an environment you can stare at in wonder. A number of publicly accessible Dark Sky Discovery sites offer excellent places to go stargazing in Elan Valley Dark Sky Park.
