Stargazing in Lake District National Park

The Lake District is arguably amongst the most stunning regions of the United Kingdom, with its mountain terrain and lakeside vistas. It also benefits from low levels of light pollution and thus makes for an excellent stargazing destination too!

Organisations such as the Friends of the Lake District are actively pursuing dark sky reserve status from the International Dark-Sky Association, an award that will help protect the area so that future generations can continue to enjoy the starry skies.
