Perseids meteor shower observing evening with Plymouth Astro
Monday 12th August 2024 from 22:00pm to Tuesday 13th August 2024 02:00am
Wembury Beach Car Park
Wembury, Plymouth, Devon, PL9 0HP
The Plymouth Astronomical Society are starting the new season of observing evenings with our usual meeting at Wembury to hopefully see some good Perseids. This year there is a 1st quarter Moon low in the SW, which shouldn’t interfere too much with the Perseids. These meteors are fast and often leave persistent trains. Rates per hour are the best of any meteor shower at the maximum on 12th to 13th August. If clouded out we will change the date to Tuesday 13th instead.
Please note that this has already taken place on 12/08/2024
