Vectis Astronomical Society

The Isle of Wight Observatory at Newchurch is open to visitors every Thursday evening, with events run by the friendly and welcoming astronomers from the Vectis Astronomical Society. Please get in touch with the Society to confirm your visit and help them manage numbers if you would like to attend this event. There is no charge for admission; however, donations are welcome and appreciated. So if you're a local or even visiting the Isle of Wight on holiday, why not join them for an evening of stargazing?

Everyone is invited to join the members of Vectis Astronomical Society for this one of their regular "fourth Friday of every month (except December)" monthly meetings. Please note that this meeting may occur via Zoom, depending on covid restrictions. Therefore, we advise you to check the Society first before setting off! The event includes a presentation, refreshments and a guide to the night sky. If the skies are clear, their nearby observatory will be open for observing and stargazing.
