University of St Andrews Astronomical Society

On (most) Thursdays each week during term time, the friendly group of astronomers from the St Andrews University Astronomical Society meet for an astronomical presentation and stargazing from the University's observatory, weather permitting. Public members are welcome to join them; however, if you would like to attend this event, please get in touch with the Society first to confirm the exact meeting arrangements.

The welcoming and dedicated students of the University of St Andrews Astronomical Society run regular open evenings at the St Andrews Observatory. (Almost) every Thursday night, come rain or shine, the group meets for talks and themed-events, opening their observatory for a free stargazing session if weather permits. You do not need to be an astronomy or physics student to join in. Whether you are a Professor of Astrophysics or haven’t even heard of the Moon, they would love to have you visit, and we are sure you will learn something new!
