AstroBoost is a project by Dr Jenny Shipway that supports amateur astronomical societies and their outreach activities.
Dr Shipway is a Science Communicator based in Winchester, UK and former Director of Learning and Participation at the Winchester Science Centre. AstroBoost aims to improve the links between amateur astronomers with the network of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) organisations as well as highlight the vital role that astronomy groups have in outreach.
The AstroBoost project is ongoing and now in its third phase; having completed initial trial runs with various astronomical societies in the south of England, Dr Shipway is seeking to expand to support astronomy groups in low-income regions of the UK.
