Thurrock Astronomy Society was formed in 1997 by a keen group of people who met at evening classes whilst studying for their GCSE in Astronomy.

Members have all levels of knowledge and expertise, ranging from absolute beginners to experienced astronomers.

The group is keen to share their knowledge with the local community by assisting with presentations to scouts, cubs, schools and local groups. New members and guests are very welcome.

    Join the friendly and welcoming members of the Thurrock Astronomy Society for this one of their regular meetings, which take place on the first Wednesday of each month.

    Meetings include talks and presentations on topics suitable for everyone interested in astronomy. In addition, it's a great chance to find out about the group's observing nights, where members have a range of equipment available to look at the night sky.
